3 RACE SERIES - 10K/15K/Half Marathon:
The series consists of a 10K, 15K and Half Marathon in succession over the course of a few months. This natural progression of distances allows athletes to work up to a Half Marathon while building confidence and strength in each successive event, or you can just challenge yourself against your runnin' buddies (or yourself) at different race distances.
Hound Hustle 10K - April 30, 2017 in the planned community of Brunswick Forest.
Summer Sizzler 10K - August 6, 2017.
Oktoberfest 15K - September 24, 2017.
Battleship Half Marathon - November 5, 2017.
All athletes who finish the 3-race Series earn a custom 28.6 Finisher Medal!
NOTE: Each series event also has a 5K option (non-series race) so your friends, family and fans can race a shorter distance and enjoy the event with you at the post race party and awards ceremonies.
NOTE 1: The Hound Hustle 10K has a dedicated early start time of 7:40 am for walkers or run/walkers and counts as a series race.
The Novant Health Family Medicine 15K at Brunswick Forest on September 24, 2017. Follow this Oktoberfest 15K link for race information. The Oktoberfest 15K Finisher Medals are collectors items! Courses are flat and picturesque through the pretty areas of the Brunswick Forest community.
Port City Orthopaedics Battleship Half Marathon on November 5, 2017. Follow this link to the Battleship Half Marathon for all race info and to register. The Battleship Race is the premier half marathon in the Carolinas. Ask anyone who has run it.
How do you know you are registered as a 3-race series entrant?
When you register for any series 10K race and the Novant Health Oceanside Family Medicine Oktoberfest 15K there will be a question on the entry form asking if you are doing the 3-race series. When you check "Yes" we will enter you in the series data base. From that point on you will receive emails directed to series athletes. At the Port City Orthopaedics Battleship Half Marathon there will be a New Balance tent near the finish area. Head over to the tent and they'll check you off on the roster and you'll receive your awesome 28.6 Finisher Medal.
Besides the custom "28.6 Finisher Medal" that each 3-race finisher receives to commemorate the total distance covered in the three events, the Overall M/F 1st & 2nd place winners and Masters M/F 1st & 2nd place winners (lowest total cumulative time for the 3 races) will receive a "3-Race Series Winner" trophy!
Note: If you do more than one series 10K, your fastest time will count in the cumulative time compulation.
